Friendly Competition Helps The Brockville Food Bank

Friendly competition helps The Brockville Food Bank. At Wills Transfer Brockville, we decided to have a friendly competition between our three locations. Parkedale’s 3M Division Team vs our Shell Division vs Team Central Avenue. The competition was in support of Operation Harvest Sharing-Food Drive. To help provide meals over the Easter Holliday.

In short, being involved in our communities is a big part of Wills Transfer. As a matter of fact, we say it on our website.

Community Involvement

Generosity and supporting the community is not a new thing to us; it’s part of our way of doing business. Our philosophy is to be a blessing to the community and those in need.

Friendly Competition Helps Rules

The rules of the competition were simple. The winner would be the team that collected the most food and cash for the food bank. The food collected was weighed, and each dollar collected was equal to one pound of food. Pretty straight forward.

The friendly competition started on March 28th and ran for two weeks ending on April 8th. Naturally, during the two weeks, the teams had fun raising money through various events.

Initially, some hosted potluck lunches with a ‘pay for your plate’ theme. While other teams purchased a bean bag to toss for a good old game of ‘Cornhole’. No idea was off the table when it came to raising money for such a needed cause.

As a final note, all the teams enjoyed the boasting and collecting of food and cash during the friendly competition.

And the Friendly Competition Winner is The Brockville Food Bank!

When the dust settled the Shell Division had raised – 269lbs of food & $497 the 3M Division Team raised 193lbs & $327 and Team Central Avenue raised 189 lbs. & $316.

In fact, with a couple of last-minute donations, the teams raised $1270 in cash and 651 Lbs of food. Although our Shell Division raised the most, the real winner of this competition was The Brockville Food Bank!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the Operation Harvest Sharing-Food Drive

In the end, it was a remarkable success for all the divisions at Wills Transfer Brockville.
