Supporting Champion for Kids Foundation

Through monthly donations, Wills Transfer has been supporting the Champion for Kids Foundation since 2012. Above all, our donations help to provide support to families in the communities where we work and live.

Who is the Champion for Kids Foundation?

The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) Champions for Kids Foundation (C4K) is a charity formed in January 2008.

Their main focus is to assist families in allowing their children to participate in sports, arts, and other fun activities. Any parent knows the costs for these types of activities can sometimes be out of reach. To say nothing of children feeling left out if they cannot join in with their friends.

Because of this, Champion for Kids discreetly helps to level the playing field for UCDSB children and their families. All assistance is confidential and allows all children to reach their full potential.

C4K also helps families with their children’s medical needs such as paying for eyeglasses. Providing gas cards to parents with a child in the hospital and purchasing Epi-Pens.

Additionally, donations can help to buy a winter coat for a child who needs warmth.

Why is the Champion for Kids Foundation needed?

Statistics suggest that 12-19% of children in Eastern Ontario are living below the poverty line. Many families struggle to provide their children with healthy meals, clothing, housing, and other basic needs.

When no money is left for the extras that make childhood fun and enjoyable, that’s where C4K comes in.

Their Success

C4K has raised and given over $1.75 million since its launch in 2008!

The donated money has helped hundreds of kids attend summer camp. As well as participating in minor hockey, minor soccer, and dance lessons.

They provide cash for clothing so students can work part-time jobs. Secondly, they pay students’ electricity bills. They cover taxis costs for students to get to and from appointments. As well as transportation to and from food banks. All part of the donation dollars.
