This year, for the first time, Wills Transfer entered a team in the Big Brother/Big Sisters Rib Eating Contest at Ribfest in Brockville which draws close to 300 spectators annually.
With 20 teams from businesses located in Brockville and the 1000 Islands region, the competition was tough with some notable entries from 3M Brockville Tape, Giant Tiger Warehouse and Northern Cables. Each team of 4 team members had to eat 4 ribs in the fastest time.
The Wills Brockville team ‘Butts & Guts’ consisted of The Missing Link (James Close), Sweet & Sticky (Katie Tavares), The Meat Man (Andrew Fortin) and Crispy Bacon (Rob Serson) and we are extremely excited to announce that our team came out on top, beating all other teams with a time of 4 mins & 28 secs and being crowned 2019 Rib Eating Champions.
There were celebrity judges including local politicians, radio personalities and business owners and throughout the event, numerous plugs from the Ribfest MC’s Bobby Orr and Phil Deery (3M Canada) for Wills Transfer and all the support given to the Big Brother/Big Sister agency this year.
This was a big win for Wills Transfer with great local exposure and was extremely fun for our team and the spectators alike.
Our hope next year, is to bring in teams from our other branches to go rib-to-rib against the 2019 defending champions Wills Transfer Brockville!
